Our Garden

March 14, 2013

As I tipped the veggie waste into the bin today (note, I didn’t separate my rubbish like a good German- very naughty!), I grabbed onto a fleeting thought of the garden we had when I was a child…

I remember my Dad laying turf there: He let me stand on the roller, while he pushed it to get the grass to ‘take’. We grew strawberries, rhubard, mint and we had a compost heap (hence the thought whilst chucking out the veggie waste). I remember so many happy times in that garden and I didn’t realise how much I miss it until the moment my hand hovered over the bin to throw out some German carrot peelings.
